Kevin Peterson Opens Woodall Spa Cricket Clubs New Practice Nets

Verde Sports News | 16/08/2012

After years of use the two practice lanes at the club had seen better days. With the batsmen facing the west the setting sun had always been a problem. The new facility has two Premier Systems and one Test Match Systems for the batting ends to cater for all levels within the club. Artificial grass surround surfacing to a total area of 26.00 x 12.00m with a 18.30m long netting. Batting screens have been included behind the batsmen to screen the facility from the road. Funding was sought from ECB for a new triple bay facility in the existing location but turned 90 degrees to avoid the sun. Despite the wet July and a burst drain causing frequent flooding delays the works progressed steadily and completed 2 days before the official opening with a very special guest!
