R7. British Championships - Monster Mountain - 10th September 2023

SOLID END TO YEAR AT ROUND 7 OF THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS – R7 – MONSTER MOUNTAIN – 10th SEPTEMBER 2023 
The seventh and final round of the 2023 British Championships took the team to Monster Mountain, South Wales. On Saturday when the team arrived, the sun was shining. Sunday was overcast with the odd storm throughout the day, making the track heavy and technical. We were a man down this weekend, with Bailey recovering from injury.

DYLAN WOODCOCK: 
 
QUALIFICATION: 
Dylan got straight into the flow of the track and started to put his fast laps in and was sitting in tenth place on the leaderboard. The session was red flagged part way through but resumed once the track was clear. Dylan straight away improved on his time but unfortunately so did others, meaning he would finish the qualifying session in 13^th place.  

MX2 RACE 1: 
Not the best of starts for Dylan, getting caught behind a fallen rider in the first corner. Putting his head down and riding well, he worked his way through to twelfth place. Unfortunately, in the later stages of the race, Dylan would have to retire due to a technical fault with his bike.  

MX2 RACE 2: 
Not a great start in race two, exiting the first turn right at the back of the pack. A great ride though saw Dylan pull through the pack and was settled in tenth place. A small mistake with a couple of laps to go would see him drop down to eleventh. This is where he would place at the chequered flag.  
 
OVERALL:
DNF-P11 for 15th overall - mixed results today but a lot of positives to take.
